Working in Partnership

We have been involved in developing partnerships/networking with local schools.

Shepherd Clocks

This was a joint I.C.T./ D.T. project with Northampton School for Boys that shared staff expertise and developed links with both schools in an effort to raise standards in D.T. and I.C.T.

The aim of the project was to design clocks for the ‘Millennium’.

The children achieved this by using the ‘Boxford’ programme, which allowed their designs to be transferred via our ISDN line to Northampton School for Boys where their clocks were cut out using a computerised lathe.

The unfinished clocks were then returned to The Good Shepherd for the children to surface clean and finish, fit mechanisms and package ready for sale to parents and the wider community. The Yr.4 children had previously set up their own company account, which they called ‘Shepherd Clocks’. We celebrated this fantastic project during ‘National Science Week’ when our school was open to the public.
