Circuits in
Action
This was our
first joint project with Thomas Becket Secondary School,
where staff shared expertise with one another and with
our children. Our children had been working in Science,
learning how to make simple circuits. This project
enabled the children to design and make models into
which their circuits could be fitted. Both schools were
involved in the planning and development of this
project, which was a lot of fun.
Throughout
both Key Stages children are learning skills in D.T. in
line with Q.C.A. requirements.
Photograph Frames
This was
another exciting joint project with N.S.B. (Northampton
School for Boys).
This project
was linked to Unit 3D of Q.C.A. Scheme of Work for D.T.
Once again this project was linked to I.C.T. using
skills. Both schools worked together to plan the project
using once again the Computerised lathe and this time a
heat machine to bend the finished acrylic frames. The
Yr.3 children involved also learned to make wooden jinx
frames and then they compared the two processes. We
opened our school to the public once again during
‘National Science Week’. |
